Working!! - Episode 9
Takanashi gets to cross-dress in this one. Inami's dad is massively overprotective. He began and encouraged her androphobia when she was young so she wouldn't get near any guys. When he hears that Inami received a gift on White Day, he was upset. In order to keep Takanashi safe, Inami lies and says that Takanashi is actually a girl. So when Inami's dad has a day off and comes in to the restaurant, Takanashi gets to play dress-up. He's not very girly though. When it's all done with, Inami has fallen for Takanashi. This'll be interesting :) I have to read the manga and see where this is going.
Funny Moments in Manga
After working your butt off for ages and almost dying many times, you finally achieve your goal and rescue the person you were trying so hard to save. Now is a great time to throw them from a few dozen meters in the air to someone on the ground, right?
Working!! - Anime
FFFpeeps is a fansub group who release Kaichou wa Maid-sama around a day after it airs in Japan. I was watching it streaming, but I found their website so I could download the files instead. You get higher quality video that way.
One of their other projects is Working!! (The exclamation points are part of the title.) I thought it looked cute, so I downloaded the first episode. I think I'm going to like it :)
Bland summary from ANN: "Set in a family restaurant in Hokkaido, the northern prefecture of Japan, 16 year old high school student Takanashi Souta works part-time along with his strange co-workers: Taneshima Popura, a high school girl who's a year older than Souta who's easily mistaken for a elementary/middle schooler, and Shirafuji Kyoko the 28-year old store manager who doesn't bother to do any work at all."
It's actually quite amusing so far. I'm looking forward to it.
Edit: Just finished episode 8, the most recent release. It's very funny! The blonde cook reminds me of a certain chef in One Piece :)

Oishii Kankei - Chapter 33
Momoe runs away, gets fired for not showing up to work, and ends up at some random guy's place. I don't know who the random guy is. She calls him Papa, but he obviously isn't her dad. I be confuzzled. Oh yeah, and there's a lot about people looking for her. That's about it for this chapter. Kinda disappointing.

Oishii Kankei - Chapter 32
Momoe is realizing how unnecessary she is at Amour, so she's depressed. Oda and Kanako are getting closer. She quit her job so she could help him start his restaurant. I'm not liking this story right now. Oda and Momoe are supposed to end up together, or at least that's what I think, but everything keeps moving in the opposite direction. I wonder where the author is going to take this.
Gakuen Alice - Chapter 131
Maybe I'm getting too picky, but the translation seemed off on this chapter. It's the first time I've seen the word "behalfism" in a manga (or anywhere else, for that matter). And Persona is suddenly a woman! I had to re-read the chapter twice to understand what was really going on. Nobara kept on defending Persona and is trying to help him break free from the ESP. Hotaru's big brother is being controlled by Luna's soul sucking alice, so Hotaru decides to stay behind, saying that she would regret it if she left him. And so the journey continues to the portal and Mikan's mother. Meh.

Oishii Kankei - "A Delicious Relationship"
Summary on OneManga - Fujiwara Momoe, a girl who loves to eat, was raised by her rich parents eating only the best. When her father dies from heart disease and Momoe has to support her and her mother, she can't stand the food that she makes (she never cooked before). One day, she walks into a little French restaurant and recognizes the food from its taste. She had eaten it several years earlier when celebrating her birthday at a 5-star restaurant with her parents. She asks to work there as a cook under the head chef, Oda-san. She falls in love with Oda, but he doesn't notice her feelings and only considers her an annoying apprentice. This series goes through joy and heartbreak, as experienced by Momoe.
This is a new type of manga for me. It seems that two of the characters seem "destined" to end up together, but instead of it being one angsty relationship, they get involved with other people. If I had to guess, I'd say that the manga is about halfway done at 31 chapters. I'm not happy with the relationships as they stand right now, but I don't see how they'd be "fixed". I'll keep up with this one.

Obsession and Irritation
Ok, so I don't really know what's been up with me, but I'm really stuck on Skip Beat lately. I just finished my third time through the series and now I'm going for my fourth. But this time I'd like to write summaries of the chapters or something. More than just reading.
I'm really irritated that chapter 49 of Kaicho wa Maid-sama hasn't been scanlated yet. It's been a month and 8 days. At this rate, the anime will catch up to the scans! If I could get someone to do the translations, I'd do the rest myself. Of course, I shouldn't complain since I'm just a moocher anyway. Pfft.
Hm .. I just realized something. Mothers blog about their kids. Narcissists blog about themselves. I blog about anime. What does that say about me? Wait. Don't answer that.

Gakuen Alice - Anime
Fail.
The only thing I liked about the anime was in episode 18. There is a brief scene that shows Luca, Natsume, and Mikan as adults. ^_^
Now for everything that sucked:
The opening is very irritating. The voices are a bit different from what I would have chosen. They give away too much stuff to quickly. But the fire is badly drawn and it's kinda an important element of the story. And the story concentrates mostly on the Mikan-Hotaru relationship, almost ignoring the growing Mikan-Natsumen relationship. Pfft.
Episode 9 is random filler, which is surprising for a 26 episode series. Episodes 23 to 25 make up a random arc that's not in the manga. It sucks. A circus in the academy? That would involve a lot of contact with the outside world. Also, why would a circus be interesting to a bunch of kids who can do the same things naturally? Bringing back Leo for these episodes was a mistake. Natsume's opinion of the academy seems to randomly do an about-face. I'm sure this was created so they could attempt to have some sort of conflict with the academy which has been foreshadowed so much.
Episode 26 was another random story which didn't appear in the manga. I think that they had just stopped trying. Crappy crappy ending and no resolution of the real issues that were presented. I was actually glad to be done with it.

DN Angel Opening
I've always thought that this opening theme was one of the best.
Here's the original version:
And an amazing acoustic version, with the same vocalist:
Amazing.
